D. Jerome Wells was born and raised in North Carolina and has built his portfolio performing frequently within the triad and in multiple theatres on the east coast. He began his training at the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts, where he studied musical theatre and traditional modern dance formats. After graduating from UNC Greensboro with a BFA in Dance Choreography, he appeared in The Color Purple at Virginia Repertory Theatre. He was the recipient of the RTCC (Richmond Theatre Critic Circles’) Best Supporting Actor award for his role as “James Thunder Early” in 2016. Wells was last seen in VARep Theatres’ 2019 production of THE WIZ, as the Tinman. D. Jerome is a proud member of Actors Equity Association, as well as the Creative & Executive Director for #TAC, known asThe Artists’ Circle.

D. Jerome is the Founder & Artistic Director of his own entertainment franchise; The Artists’ Circle. The Artists’ Circle is a viable space for established and local artists; providing them with a low profile setting to showcase and present their art work. #TAC is much more than an open mic night, but it is a great networking space for triad talent, and artists in surrounding states.
